The curves of pears lend themselves to "classical compositions".  When I worked with the brown pears I somehow was able to move them into different relationships with each other, and the "blemish" on the one pear made it all work better, so it did't look like everything was "perfect".  The result was an image that looked like it had been painted by a "Dutch Master".  Our eye knows good composition right seems to be built into our mind and perceptions.
